Point-blank 0space: Aye Ko & San Minn Joint Exhibition

Despite the instability of the political climate, Myanmarese artists have found ways to express their opinions and emotions freely. San Minn, a renowned artist and art educator in Myanmar, uses images of guns in his work to address the pressing social and environmental issues in the country. He depicts these issues candidly and directly, making a bold statement through his art.

Aye Ko, on the other hand, embraces mindfulness in his work. Before he begins painting, he engages in meditation, allowing a colorful and imaginative world to emerge in his mind. Despite the occasional confrontational elements in his work, his art reflects his deep emotions and emerges instinctively from a space of blankness.

Both San Minn and Aye Ko, being Buddhists, share the common aspiration of peace with the majority of the Myanmar population. Through their art, they voice their hopes for a brighter future and a peaceful resolution to ongoing political and societal issues.
